official support for the Beige ended at 10.2 Jaguar.

Things that will speed up Tiger 10.4 on a Beige G3:

1) fast Radeon video card with Quartz Extreme enabled using PCI  
Extreme. A Radeon 7000 minimally, a flashed 9xxx series is better.
2) faster HD. I liked booting from a 7,200 RPM external Firewire HD  
which effectively beats both the 1st 8GB limit and the 128GB limit.  
Another option would be using a striped RAID 0 setup using Disk Utility.
3) Max. out the RAM to the full 768MB.
4) faster G4 CPU with large L2 cache. (600MHz max. you'll need to  
change jumpers)
5) Perhaps disabling some Tiger Features. You can do this with
