Almost done. The Keychain login password isn't changed by changing the admin password from the installation DVD, so you'll need to login with the new password, and then open Keychain Access and change the Keychain login password to the new password. 1) Open Keychain Access located in Applications/Utilities, and select the keychain in the Keychains list (click Show Keychains if the list is not open). 2) Choose Edit>"Change Password for Keychain 'login'." (The name of the keychain in the menu matches the name of the selected keychain. If you selected the keychain that unlocks when you log in, the name you see is "login.") 3) If the keychain is locked, type the password to unlock it. (note: this is the new password set from the installer CD/DVD) 4) Type the current password for this keychain. (note: this should be the old admin password unless you'd changed it to have separate keychain & admin passwords; if that is rejected, try the new password, which if it works, no change is necessary; if no password works, the Keychain is likely corrupted and you'll probably need to delete the keychain and start again to create a new keychain & password) 5) Type a new password (normally the same as the admin password unless you want to specify different passwords), then type it again to verify. 6) Click OK. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed Low End Mac's G3-5 List, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
