Back in the OS9 days, yes. But in OS 10.x NO!! There are a lot of  
hidden and scattered files in OS X.

You need to either:

1) Do a fresh install of OS X onto the 80GB drive, then use Migration  
Assistant to copy important stuff from your 10GB over and manually  
copy stuff you missed.

or

2) Use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy your 10GB onto your 80GB. You will  
need to back up EVERYTHING on the 80 GB because CCC needs a blank  
partition to copy onto. Then copy everything from your backup.
