Hello OS9 Diehards,

I am in the throes of switching and have just sold my "Sawtooth" (but
I still have my MDD 2003 in case of panic). For private stuff, I have
been using OS X for a couple of years but for work, I couldn't tear
myself away from OS 9. I have spent years putting together a working
environment that was exactly suited to my need (translations) with the
sawtooth and two monitors (Word on one and dictionaries on the other).
A couple of weeks ago, I finally force myself to make the move and it
has been rough. My productivity is down and I am fighting with
multiple problems which I am trying to solve one by one. That I won't
give up my Apple extended keyboard and some dictionaries that I don't
want to abandon require classic (iMate won't switch between OS's),
doesn't simplify the problem. And it doesn't help that I also threw
out my old Apple B/W portrait monitor and replaced it with a LCD in
pivot mode so that I can display two dictionaries at once. If worst
comes to worst, I can always switch back to OS 9 on the MDD that boots
into OS 9 and I am back on familiar ground (but then I would have to
figure out how to get the pivoted monitor to display my dictionaries).
That's life, as they say.

Good luck to other switchers.

Gary
