Nope. I can boot from the drive that 10.5.7 is installed on. But it
only lasts for one minute and goes to blue screen, then comes up again
quickly, then goes to blue screen again and repeats it until you force
quit. Once it actually worked for awhile inexplicably but next time
it was booted went back to that routine.

I have 10.5.6 on another drive. It was my backup. I started from the
10.5.7 drive and decided to zap the pram to see if that helped the
endless 10.5.7-to-blue screen loop. After three bell chimes it came
up - but had booted from the 10.5.6 drive. I thought I'd made a
mistake so repeated the process, making sure to choose the 10.5.7
drive in startup-disc pref, and although I clearly choose the 10.5.7
drive, after zapping the pram it booted from 10.5.6.

However, after that, I booted from the 10.5.7 drive and did not zap
the pram. It booted from that drive in 10.5.7 but went to the loop.

Dumb question: Where do I get the combo update? I downloaded mine by
choosing "Software Update" in the apple pull down menu.

Thanks
