Feel free to inquire prior to the trip to the Apple technician. For perspective, I bought an OWC Mercury Extreme 1.5 GHz G4 replacement CPU for about $250 (direct from them) about 2 yrs. ago. Comparing price, maybe you saved money, maybe you didn't. But, if that upgrade project is still inviting you to spruce up your QS, keep your eyes open on the LEM Swap List for one (a CPU) on sale, with a used, comparable one as mine now going for approx. 1/2 the price that I paid. To recoup some of your loss, you could sell the 733MHz CPU touting it as a "new Apple service part" to fetch a bit more appeal. Just my 2ยข.
