Actually, that happened about five or so years ago. It was my only
computer and I didn't know what was wrong with it. I was really
hesitant to get into something like that myself. I did put more memory
and a card in it, but, to me, replacing the processor was a bit too
much at that time. Now I have a two more Macs I can use as backups,
and I regularly synchronize the main Mac to an external HD as well as
a DVD backup.
