Cutting connectors to make them smaller is not a good idea. You may need
their full functionality in the future if not now.

I am not sure why you want to do this. They are not usually that much in the
way.
In some cases you may find nicer looking ones from the wire suppliers.
Longer cables may enable you to route them further out of the way.

Are you mainly concerned with access or are you putting a transparent door
and lights
on your DA?
