Bong good - that means the self-test has run successfully - the pmu, cpu, memory, buses, and video are basically functional. The spinning gear means that some of the OS kernel has loaded, and it's sniffing the hardware etc. >The screen then goes off momentarily, then comes back with a blank >screen. Thats it. So it tried to fully initialize the video, and perhaps failed. Try reseating the video card. Try booting into Safe Mode (shift key held down). Try booting in Verbose Mode (cmd-V held down). Try booting into Target Disk Mode (T held down), then connect the system to another via firewire. Try booting on an external drive (hold down option key to bring up a list of available bootable devices). - Dan. -- - Psychoceramic Emeritus; South Jersey, USA, Earth. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
