My first Mac was a II model in October of 1987. First I had the box,
then a week or so later a "temporary" B&W monitor. Those were the
days when Apple promised everything but could never deliver in a
timely manner.

In order to do anything, you really needed 2MB of RAM which cost a
hefty $190 or so per MB. In all, I spent about $4,500 for the CPU,
13" Hi Rez monitor, Video card and a 5.25" floppy drive (along with a
support NuBus card to support IBM compatibility) in order to process
text generated by clients.

Even though, I look fondly on the "old" days when things were a lot
more simple..
