A very long time if you are willing to buy on the used market.  Narrow
SCSI drives were dropped by Apple almost ten years ago and it's just
been within the last year or two that they've become especially hard
to find.  But IDE to SCSI adapters have been plentiful (though not
especially cheap) too.

What do you consider reasonable prices?  There's a fellow on Ebay
selling a bunch of the Acard 6280M for about $50 each.  If I ever get
my workbench cleared, I'll have about 40 of the 6880M for sale.  The
ATA cards are not that hard to find in the secondary markets.
