Sorry not true. There are a number of different plugs that can be on the ends of the USB extension cable. There are A, B and mini & micro mini plugs. I think he likely needs a cable with full size male plugs on both ends. I think these are known as "B"plugs. I'm thinking the "A" plugs are the female plugs but not sure. For example a USB printer cable is full size male(B) on one end and mini (B) Male on the other.
