Just to clarify: By "door," my original post meant what a later poster more accurately called "the bezel on the front of the tray." I was saying that after the drive was installed, the bezel on the front of the tray would not move through the provided hole in the MDD faceplate.
Yes, the drive as a whole must be installed from behind, which I did. Sorry for any misunderstandings.
