I'd suggest skipping the G4's and go for an early G5 model. Pretty much everything from a single 1.6 up to a dual processor 2.0 can be had for reasonable prices now. I'd avoid any G5 that has liquid cooling. It probably won't be very much longer before even the dual core PCIe models become available for pocket change.
