My experience is different. Maybe worsened by the fact that my G5 is an Xserve so does not excel in the video department. My Dual G4 1.33GHz Xserve seems to be much more compatible with s/w and h/w. The G5 seems a bit of a bastard-son never reaching it's promise and rapidly abandoned by Apple.
