I'm not working with iTunes on this.
iTunes would print out the info according to its formats, but I need
the list in simple text form so I can print it in a custom layout
i.e. directly on a CD.
You're going to have to do this manually AFAIK, there isn't going to
be any automated program unless it's something that comes with
whatever software you're using to print directly onto CDs.
Here's the manual way:
Highlight your iTunes playlist and press "Print" and select Theme
"Text Only" and hit the "Print" button in the lower left.
When the print window opens, select "Save as PDF".
Now open the PDF you just saved and highlight the text and then hit
"Copy".
Open Text Edit and hit "Paste" to paste the text into Text Edit and go
to the Format menu and select "Make Plain Text".
Now you've got a totally "Plain Text" track listing that you can enter
into your CD print program for your custom printed CDs.
