There have been some reports (I don't know how reliable) of folks who couldn't get 256 MB DIMMs to work reliably in their Beige G3s even when they had the proper two bank (low density) modules. I found that if pin 122 of the ROM DIMM is tied to Ground, then the Beige will not support more than 512 MB of RAM total. There may be some ROM modules out there where pin 122 is tied to ground, causing RAM problems.
