I am surprised no one has mentioned getting a small bench power supply
and a handfull of the power adapter plugs.
I have two bench supplies that I consider invaluable in powering up
new-to-me equipment. One of them as a dedicated 5V output among the
adjustable outputs. The regulation is so much better than any wall
wart.
Duh. There's a whole pile of DIY versions at Instructibles.com showing
how to make such power supplies out of ATX PC power supplies.

This is one that lets you make a variable PS out of one.
