Well there is no way the board will work. It physically wont fit. Although it looks the same there are differences that make it unable to fit in. I tried to get past some of the problem with just not putting the mounting screw back in because it wont line up. I figured I would give it a go without the screw but then there is the step of needing to force the board past the airport slot. If you manage that you will then be confronted with the processor hold down not lining up to the holes in the board and that means not being able to mount the processor to the board. I gave up at that point and decided there is just no way to mount the 1.42 board in the 867 case with a processor. I dont believe the 1.42 processor will even work even though it is made to fit the board the board simply will not fit properly in the 867 case. So for future reference -- no the 1.42 board will not work in an 867 case.
