There's no such thing as a Netgear WRT54g, it's a Linksys. The Linksys WRT54g started the whole DD-WRT/OpenWRT revolution of open source Linux firmware for routers. Just because your ISP's router firmware has bad range doesn't mean you can't do something about it. You should look into whether or not your specific model and version of WRT54g can run DD-WRT or OpenWRT firmware, and if it can, I believe you'll find you can improve your router performance dramatically, which makes certain models & versions of the WRT54g among the most sought after of the 802.11g routers, and best selling too.
