I have never been able to connect to WPA Personal on any machine with an 
original AirPort or AirMac card. I have all systems and almost all machines 
Apple made. The g/n cards do connect. 
I think some folks think all Airport cards are equal, that's not the case. :-) 
You're peeing in the tide trying to connect to WPA Personal via  802.1 b cards.
