Not for all of us. Depends on how much you pay for your electricity ( ... and I suppose on whether or not you care how much your electric bill is. :) Assuming my desktop system uses around 100 watts then if it is left on 24/7 I'd pay around an extra $10 a month which is $120 a year. The cost of keeping a router on 24/7 is probably 1/10 of that. (It's been awhile since I've plugged my D-Link DIR-655 into a Kill-A-Watt so I'm not 100% sure of my numbers. But I don't think I'm that far off either.) Of course, my parents and aunts and uncles all grew up during the Great Depression.
