Cube Owners is certainly a good resource for well... Cube owners but sometimes 
it takes a while to get a reply.
They do have a lot of threads about CPU upgrades and also their experiences 
while doing so.
I think from memory the Sonnet 1.2 was also one of the hottest running and 
power hungry upgrades until the later ones came out.
Guys using this chip also blew their VRMs on a regular basis if they didn't do 
a few cooling mods and not just adding the lower fan.
I think the PL or some of the CPU manufacturers also had a VRM bypass to help 
take the load off it.
If you go look at those threads there is a lot of information to trawl through 
and you should find what you are after.
