I have another device that is FW, a canopus ADVC300 digital/analog
converter. It warns not to turn it off while the computer is in a
Sleep mode or if the computer has been turned off while the canopus
has remained on. It messes up the OHIC firewirw protocol or something
of that nature (a novice here) ...

Probably can search for more info on FW and USB connected devices.
They'd probably be different if connected to a 3rd party USB or FW PCI
card ... seems like the slots are turned off according to that article.
Maybe someone else will pick up the thread and know more ...
