__________________________________________________________ Only Kris had any thoughts on this. No LEM input and no other Lister input. So I still do not know if the LEM Wall on FB is legit or not. Nor do I have any info giving an informed knowledge of why so few people have joined that walls feed. What's up Listers? FoF ? ( fear of Facebook? ) Surely some of you are on other sites which are just as risky. And surely many of you have machines more than capable of logging on. If it is a bogus site ( not saying it is ) we can go in " en masse " and populate it and make it legit. Fear of it somehow replacing LEM ? Not likely. FB posts are limited in size. It is for brief communication. Lengthy help sessions would not fit. Nor would the multiple lists of LEM. What could it do ? Give hope to Mac users of the low end variety out there who are unaware that user mutual tech help is available for Mac users who cannot afford shop prices. This is a Mac tradition that goes back to the roots of Apple computers and the days when few shops were around and computers were new. And Macs were far more esoteric than they are today. Maybe the idea of mutual user support is reaching an end? Maybe promoting it steps on someone's toes? ( who's I do not know ) Surely this group, for the most part, know how to protect itself on the web. And those who know have always shared the procedures with those who do not. So what problem would there be with that end of it. "Web sites are insecure ! "Well yes, I was reading how large bank sites are still being mined by hackers. Facebook has little to do with bank accounts. Nor is it any more risky than ( to an informed person in charge of their faculties ) than a bank website. "Facebook has privacy issues." Yes, if you cannot manage your own privacy settings , or don't know how to turn some troll off of your Wall perhaps web surfing is not for you at all. Or is it that Listers here just are not open to a 4 year old convenient and fun way of sharing media and other data and messages with a bigger world ? -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
