Actually, it's only for the 10x mulipliers and higher.  Powerlogix
claimed they found a bug in the chipset that forced a 10x or faster G4
to be downclocked to 66Mhz external bus.  They released a G3/1.1Ghz
chip that still used the 100Mhz fsb.   See here:

The 1Ghz chips are still available new evidently.  Not a bad upgrade
if you don't need Altivec.
