Well, actually, I do have it checked for my Firmtek brand Seritek 1S2 controller, and am pretty sure the Seagate ST31000528AS 1TB SATA drive attached spins down.
Strange, since I believe Sonnet's card is likely a relabeled Firmtek brand, as Kris pointed out. I debated going with Sonnet as I have several of their PCI cards and cpus. But the lower price and 2 year warranty of the Firmtek won out this time.
