Also check stuff like 'is the Ethernet cable good', 'is the Cube set to DHCP', 
etc. I've gone haring off on arcane network fixes to non-working systems before 
I checked: 'oh some idiot set this system to a fixed IP address on an entirely 
different network....'

With myself being the 'idiot' in question, natch :-)
