I have found SATA to be worlds faster than PATA in general. I would personally get the card if it is bootable from a Mac. Make sure it is SATA II for best speed. Slap you a 7200 rpm drive in there with the thinner SATA cables and enjoy a faster system, more storage and better airflow due to the much smaller cables. Well, if you remove your current PATA drives that is. I have a dual 1.8 GHz MDD with 2 2TB Constellations in a stripe. =)
