AFAIK the QS should be just fine with a stock install of 9.2.2.  The MDD needed 
the specialized files from the OS 9 installer that came with that machine but 
not the QS.

I don't recall if you mentioned this but a PRAM Zap MIGHT solve this.  Another 
thing is to check the PRAM battery voltage to see if it's okay.
