Keep OnyX and AppleJack. Make sure AppleJack is properly installed.
OnyX is good for basic maintenance.
AppleJack is *the* emergency repair tool, to be used when the OS is
broken. From Single User Mode (boot holding down cmd-s), it does a
deep cleaning of the OS. It can even run fsck (Disk Utility) to
repair your HD -- without needing to boot on something else.
