Look again, Bruce. The text you quote is for the software that
accompanies the upgrade. The actual compatibility list is as
follows:

Compatible Macintosh Models

Power Mac G4 (Digital Audio)
•
Power Mac G4 (QuickSilver 2001)
•
Power Mac G4 (QuickSilver 2002 )

It's easy to get confused, but in general, upgrades for the earlier G4
models do not work in the MDD.
