give a look at the table at the bottom under the PowerPC Digital Audio
G4, and it tells you that:

OS 9.0 is NFG;
9.1 is OK, but it needs a 'custom' version of the 9.1 install disk;
9.2 is also OK (But I can't use 9.2 as I have a hardware device that
won't run under 9.2, the Imate ADB to USB adaptor).

I don't understand, Griffin says the iMate works in 9.1 OR GREATER, and many people report using the iMate in 9.2.2 out-of-the-box without needing to install any software in 9.2.2. If your iMate isn't working in 9.2.2 perhaps there's a problem?

Any ideas folks??

I see that OS X support ended in 10.3 and that people report installing Classic in Tiger 10.4 and assigning the iMate to Classic to get it working in Tiger. If this is what you're trying to do, I'd suggest using the 9.2.2 Netboot installer package and removing the two netboot extensions from the System folder>Extensions folder and the "Login" System file. This is a complete 9.2.2 Classic installation that should work for you in Tiger. See:
