Don't know why, but this 266 mhz beige tower absolutely refuses to boot from its IDE bus. It will boot from a system CD in OS 8.6, but not from a hard drive. I keep getting a "no bootable HFS partition message" that repeats itself until it finds the CD and boots from it. I've tried three different hard drives, and I always get the same message. All three hard drives are 6 GB, so I am not being thwarted by the 8 GB partition rule. It has absolutely no problem seeing the hard drives once the system CD has booted up, and I can see everything on the disks. It just has some kind of an issue with booting from a hard drive. I even looked up the documentation on the jumpers on the hard drives, and setting the jumpers doesn't change anything. Any suggestions?
