I suspect you've got the intel version, hence the 'Bad CPU' error.
The site with a download for a 32 bit machine didnt expressly say it
as for Intel. The first one in the list for 32-bit 10.4 and 10.5

I was hoping it was not Intel only.
Saw the one for OpenJDK and that said Intel.
