You are trying to have an answer by viewing what all 10 things are doing simultaneously. Therefore obviously confused. Always start at the lowest level of any communication. The physical layer (all other software and hardware ignored) is defined by lights on the ethernet port and a router or modem. View lights. Do lights always stay illuminated? Or do failures occur only when those lights are extinguished. Simplify the problem by viewing it one ethernet layer at a time. Find tools to examine the next layer. Comprehensive hardware diagnostics would have saved you must time and confusion. Also learned how to use ping and its various options. Break the problem into parts. Then analyze the problem one part at a time. Currently you are trying to analyze everything at once. Are therefore confused. -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
