Could be that the pram/nvram lost its saved resolution, and the video
card picked one that the display doesn't properly support. Try
selecting a different resolution.
Could be that the display cable became unseated. Try reseating.
Could be that your video card is dying. Try reseating it.
Check your system.log ... there might be some apropos messages there.
Try booting into Safe Mode; see if the video issues persist there...
