I've used a couple of Elgato devices that input S or composite video and send it to a Mac via USB2. I used an earlier product and later the EyeTV 250 Plus. At the time I bought it, it said it required a G4 or higher but when my G4 died in the middle of a project I discovered a G3 worked with both the hardware and software
