Possible. But since the Quicksilver 2002 you need special versions of Mac OS 
9, that include a very specific ROM file. Thes means, that you cannot use this 
.pkg Installer for Mac OS X to install a bootable version of Mac OS 9 on such 
a system.

Classic normally doesn't load extensions, unless you set it so in the 
Preferences.

Yes. Full ACK. No worries, since Mac OS 9 will never overwrite or damage 
anything that is Mac OS X specific. Both use different folders/files.
