>From the description you're giving it seems like you'll need at least a G4 1GHz. Anything else wouldn't be able to write DVD's or any kind or real photo editing. It also depends on what type of gaming you're looking to do. Any flash based games online would need that much as well or more.
Also 1 GB of memory would be a good minimum to aim for.
