Any reason to drop down in my search for > a lesser model? Yes: avoid liquid cooling systems (LCS). The 2.5 GHz Dual processors system (Mid 2004) is liquid cooled, as is the 2.7 GHz Dual (Early 2005) and the 2.5 GHz Dual-Core Dual i.e. "Quad" (Late 2005, PCIe). You definitely want to avoid this: http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/systems/G5_coolant_leaks.html I highly recommend getting an air cooled system (which is any other then those mentioned above).
