That seems counter to the OP's stated desire for a simple program 
"Unfortunately current drawing programs have been improved so much that they 
are practically impossible to use, or too much work to use for simple things 
such as "working" structure and details drawings."

If it's a CAD program you're looking for, try Cadintosh, by Thorsten Lemke, 
author of GraphicConverter

than Vectorworks.
