My 450MHz uniprocessor Sawtooth G4 handles fileserving just fine, to two servers and several clients, plus automated backups. You need RAM and fast I/O more than you need CPU in that configuration (mine is FW800 to a RAID 5 array, with a full load of RAM). -- ------------------------------------ personal: http://www.cameronkaiser.com/ -- Cameron Kaiser * Floodgap Systems * www.floodgap.com * [email protected] -- BOND THEME NOW PLAYING: "All-Time High" from "Octopussy" ------------------- -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
