Almost certainly your PRAM battery is dead; this can cause issues like this.

This is Apple's guide:

looks like a CR3032-type button cell, but iFixit has photos of a motherboard 
showing a half-aa Lithium 3.6V cell

In any case it's simple enough to find and identify which is which on your 
system. The button cell can be gotten just about anywhere (I usually get them 
at Walgreens), the ½AA one can begotten at RadioShack, places like Batteries 
Plus or online.
