I am under the impression that it is possible to network the G5 and the MBP such that they can share the G5's dvd drive, and yet load the 10.6 installer---as if the G5 was an external dvd. So, very simply, how do I do this, step by step? I only have an ethernet cable and a USB cable. You need to get a firewire cable; the G5 should be capable of starting in firewire target mode, and I believe that DVD's will show up as well as the main Hard Drive. -- Bruce Johnson "Wherever you go, there you are" B.
