It is a lost cause to use a PPC Mac with newer iPhones. You don’t necessarily need to connect to a Mac because of iCloud, and the ability to upgrade iOS on the phone alone. Still, it’s probably about time to be moving to Intel based Apple software. Some Intel Macs are selling very reasonably, for example, I see Intel iMacs for less than $100, which can be upgraded in the CPU, RAM, and HD so they can run 10.8.5 Mountain Lion with some minor tweaks. You can probably build a hackintosh that will run 10.10 Yosemite for only a couple hundred dollars. I'd work in that general direction ASAP. Even the old 2006 MacPro 1,1 & 1,2 can be upgraded to run Yosemite, and these are selling very reasonably now. -- -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
