Hi Charles, You might wish to check out the Wondershare website (mac-file-recovery.wondershare.net/). They seem to have excellent products at very fair prices. The only issue would be if their program would work with 10.5.8. In any case, you should not use the affected hard drive until you recover the lost data. Any new information saved to the drive will overwrite what has been erased. If Wondershare doesn't have a data recovery program that handles 10.5.8, perhaps they could recommend one, if you contacted their customer service. Good luck, Bob C.
