Hello all, I am tryuing to back up my hard drive with g4u and running into problems....
I am using it on my Asus NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI mobo, model P5N32-E SLI. Bascially I ran >disks: Which outputted details for wd0 and wd1(the seagate 300GB SATA drive i want to backup, which btw has 10GB used space on it and I ran a zeroing tool be4hand to make sure the extra space is 'zeroed out') Then i ran: >ifconfig -a Saw nfe0 and nfe1. The one that has status active i tried giving a manual address since previous attempts didnt work so I assume DHCP wasnt working forsome reason (my DHCP range on Dlink WBR-2310 router is 192.168.0.100 to 104)... >ifconfig nfe1 192.168.0.100 netmask 255.255.255.0 which outputted some 'watchdog timeout' errors... Then I still went thoguh with the rest even though seemed kinda pointless but anyway ran: >route add default 192.168.0.1 which says: route: writing to routing socket: file exists add net default: gateway 192.168.0.1: File exists (might be because i ran this a few times so info might have been already 'set') Then I tried running: >uploaddisk 192.168.0.102 image.gz wd1 and used the username install and password install which i setup on Filezilla and it tries to upload 450kb about 5 times, each time it repeats the watchdog timeout error. and then quits. Running FileZilla ftp Server on windows 2000 box. Using g4u 2.3 version 'disks' outputs wd0 and wd1. the wd0 one is the IDE 250GB drive i have and wd1 is my main drive/SATA. >'dmesg' relevant lines outputs: nfe0 at pci0 dev 17 function 0: Nvidia nForce MCF55 gigibit Ethernet Controller (rev. 0xa2) nfe0: interrupt at irq 5 nfe0 Ethernet Address: <its Mac Address> .... nfe1 at pci0 dev 18 function 0: Nvidia nForce MCF55 gigibit Ethernet Controller (rev. 0xa2) nfe1: interrupt at irq 10 nfe1: Ethernet Address: <its Mac Address> These are my 2 ethernet ports on mobo i assume. Also some extra info on ethernet interface i tried connecting with: >ifconfig nfe1 nfe1: flags=8843 <UP, BROADCAST, RUNNING, SIMPLEX, MULTICAST> mtu 1500 cababilities=3f00<IP4CSUM_RX, IP4CSUM_TX, TCP4CSUM_RX,TCP4CSUM_TX, UDP4CSUM_RX,UDP4CSUM_TX> enabled=0 Address:<its Mac Address> media Ethernet autoselect (100baseTx full duplex) status= active inet 192.160.0.100 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.0.255 Thanks for any insights/help, Ari ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
