Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Tom Metro (tmetro) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) >Summary: add group and hide empty groups don\'t get along Initial Comment: Gaim v0.82.1 on Win32 (This is a user friendliness issue, not broken functionality.) After a new install of Gaim, select Buddies | Add Group, enter a group, click Add, and it appears that nothing happens. Of course the group is created, but "Show empty groups" option is unchecked by default, so it appears as if nothing has happened. For a new user who is expecting to next be able to drag some buddies into the newly created group, this is a problem. A related issue is that repeating the group creation process gives no indication that the same group name already exists, further adding to the impression that group creation seems to not be working. One solution might be to enable "Show empty groups" by default, though it is quite likely that some users will be tripped up by this even after they have chosen to disable "Show empty groups." Showing the newly created group momentarily also doesn't seem like an ideal fix. Perhaps forcibly enabling "Show empty groups" any time a new group is created is the best compromise. -Tom ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2007-04-09 21:14 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 Originator: NO As we are closing this tracker, please submit any feature request that is still valid to http://developer.pidgin.im.
