Those who have ever used Miranda IM will know what I mean... Miranda has an option to make the buddy list transparent on 2000/XP systems. So does Gaim. But in Miranda, there is an option to make the window fully opaque when it is focused or the mouse is over it, and back to transparent when it loses focus or the mouse moves out.
